It’s been a loooooonggg time since I’ve written here or participated in Five Minute Fridays, but here I am after receiving an email about the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes led by Kate Motaung. So the goal is to write for five minutes on the given writing prompt.
So the clock begins now:
I think it’s only been this year that I’ve really learned to both appreciate and embrace the power of story. It started with a sermon – and maybe it was last year – but it started with the story of David as told via the “I am Number Eight” sermon by Pastor John Gray. Believe it or not, in all my 39 years of living, it was the first time that I could remember hearing it told as he did. After that I heard the story of Leah and the story of Joseph. None of these were new to me, but they began to take on new meaning. I saw them from a different, or should I say, more spiritually mature perspective. There’s so much to learn from a story, so much wisdom to gain.
I’ve taken pride in sharing my own story now because it’s important for people to know and understand the Love of God, as well as the Grace of God. Our stories are powerful! Our stories are a testament of who God is, his power, and sovereignty.
All right. That’s my five minutes. This is going to be awesome. Hopefully, I keep up because consistency is a discipline I’m still working on. (This is now gonna show up late even though I started at 11 because I got side-tracked revamping my site)
Welcome back! I look forward to reading your posts this month. #56 for the 31-Day Challenge
