It’s been a loooooonggg time since I’ve written here or participated in Five Minute Fridays, but here I am after receiving an email about the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes led by Kate Motaung. So the goal is to write for five minutes on the given writing prompt.
Time starts now:
What are you searching for? Love? Acceptance? Identity? Validation? Rec—- Ah, hit a button and just deleted what I’d written… less than 3 minutes left to go… Who are you searching these things from. I see search and think – to look for something… mind switches gears. We often times hear others say and have said ourselves, “Lord search my heart and remove anything that is not of you so that I may be blameless and pure.” Search is to look for something and often times we create a mess, or things become chaotic in the search. When you’re search(ing), there’s the question of what you’re searching for and why? What value will the person or thing add to your life when found? So be careful what you’re searching for. In some cases, we should seek to be sought as opposed to doing the – times up – seeking.
