31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes/FMF ~ Day 26: Moment

It’s been a loooooonggg time since I’ve written here or participated in Five Minute Fridays, but here I am after receiving an email about the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes led by Kate Motaung. So the goal is to write for five minutes on the given writing prompt.

Time starts now:

Funny, I think yesterday I referenced ‘capturing the moment’. Sometimes the most powerful revelations are received within an moment and if you’re not ready, prepared, or fully alert you will miss it. I remember listening to a John Gray sermon and I caught the end of something I knew was for me, but I was multi-tasking and missed it. Thank God it was on YouTube with a rewind functionality. Sometimes we miss that ‘moment’ because we’re too distracted. Something you’ve been waiting so long for appears as soon as you turn your attention to something else. Some things/instances can’t be replayed back. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. The ‘moment’ is lost… to say “I love you”, or do a kind act for a specific person, to say a prayer over someone in person… So we have to be more discerning, more patient, and self-disciplined in not only waiting for the ‘moment’ whatever it may be, but also capturing the moment and enjoying the fullness of its beauty (and revelation). (1 minute left)… When that ‘moment’ you’ve been waiting for appears, will you be ready? You do know it will not always appear as you expect?!? Stay Alert for your ‘moment’!
