So today’s word prompt is ‘Testimony’. Oh my… so many to tell, but the one I love and have come to share more is how God reached down and pulled me up despite my filth and loved and graced me back to life.
For the longest, I lived in shame and guilt because of a hidden secret, a behind the door secret. You know the kind where you appear one way in public, but at night (or whenever you’re alone the most) you succumb to the thing you don’t wanna do, but do anyway because you want to feel something, you’re searching for something, there’s an emptiness you’re wanting to fill even if just temporarily. Or the kind of secret where your spiritual standing or position in the church makes you feel no one would understand and instead judge you for not being steadfast in your walk with Christ. (time).
My testimony is best described by the book of Hosea. You know the story of the man married to the prostitute who he kept having to save and even had to pay a price for. You know the underlying story of how time after time God saved Israel in spite of their unfaithfulness and disobedience. Yet no matter what, Hosea still had love for his wife, God still had love for Israel and He still had and has love for me.
So I shared that to say no matter what walk of life you’re in (season/chapter), you are never too far out of God’s reach to be saved. His arms are always open to welcome you back with joy, love and grace just as the father welcomed his prodigal son.
Thanks for reading. If you have a love for writing, but often times not sure what to write about, this is a good place to start and stay as we receive weekly word prompts from Kate Motaung via the Five Minute Friday Community Page.
