It’s been a loooooonggg time since I’ve written here or participated in Five Minute Fridays, but here I am after receiving an email about the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes led by Kate Motaung. So the goal is to write for five minutes on the given writing prompt.
Time starts now:
Just got back from a speaker’s training event and one of the major principles they teach on is how important it is to share your story because you never know who’s on their last leg, last hope waiting to hear something profound from you. Have you been holding back for fear of rejection, misunderstanding, negative feedback? I know it may be easier said than done, but focus less on your critics, and more on the ones God has assigned you to pour into. Your story is not meant to go to the grave with you. And we all have more than one story, which means you have multiple people waiting on you to step outside of your comfort zone, your fear zone so that they can do the same. This life is not our own… Someone’s waiting for you. I read a post through this challenge about a lady who just found out she has bipolar 2. She was scared to talk about it, but she didn’t let her fear win. And I’m willing to bet because she shared, someone else regained their hope, someone else realized that it doesn’t make them a bad person. Something about you is worth sharing – maybe not to the world, but to SOMEBODY, and that somebody is worth the transparency and vulnerability required just as the 1 of… time’s up… just as the one sheep the shepherd went back for, leaving the 99.
